Rainbow Honey Nail Polish Mystery Bag

Image

I recently found Rainbow Honey nail polish through some people in the julep swap group I am apart of. They were talking about a mystery bag for only $10.00, also they had a coupon for 5 dollars off. I thought this would be a great opportunity to try out their products. Including shipping the price of the bag was $8.25, which was a pretty awesome price. My first impression is Rainbow Honey is a pretty sophisticated Indie polish. The polishes are labeled nicely, and I really like presentation. I got several products in my mystery bag, so let’s talk about what I got.

Image

Image

The first polish I got was Sparkling Agave it was a mini. I like the bottles, they are so cute. I really like the color I got. It’s so pretty, I love the color and it has a nice shimmer.

Image

I also got Puffin Party in a mini. I think the name is right, it definitely looks like a party. Not sure if this is my style though, but I don’t know till I try it!

Image

I should of put a penny next to it because it is itty bitty! It is a perfume with rollerball. The smell is really not me. Maybe it would make a cute gift with other items.

Image

Top coat mini! You can never have enough top coat.

Image

And a sparkle glittery pot! There is quite a bit of glitter in it. 🙂 I never use loose glitter maybe I should start using loose glitter.

My Julep Haul

Image

Here is my haul! I recently did a Valentines swap and the girl I swapped with gave me a %50 off entire purchase  with Julep in my swap box. So I had to use it! What a steal, when do you ever get 50% off an entire purchase anywhere? I would of got more…but I have been more reckless with nail polish spending. So here’s what I got !

Image

Mind Your Mani $75.00

I purchased the Mind Your Mani kit, I had to do it because it was already on sale for $39.99, with 50% off it is only $ 19.99. And for 20 bucks you get 3 nail masks (which are amazeballs), I am pretty sure I am going to use a pack tomorrow! Then you get a Might Nail & Cuticle Serum ( I have a mini version right now but extra never hurts). Freedom Top Coat, and Oxygen Nail treatment. All of these items in this kit I currently own, but having back ups is nice. I am not crazy about Julep’s top coat ( it gets wayy too goopy after awhile). But I absolutely love julep’s oxygen! Anyway what a steal.

Image

Image

Julep Eye Sheen in Warm Fig Shimmer $ 18.00

I didn’t purchase a box for February this month, initially I wasn’t excited by the eyeshadow included nor was I wowed by the color choices. But after I saw people posting about how much they liked these liquid shadows (that lasted hours) I had to purchase. I never use liquid shadow but these colors looked so pretty when swatched. This one is Warm Fig Shimmer. I wore it today, it is a very warm color. The wear wasn’t amazing, since it did start to crease but it’s nothing a little primer won’t help.

Image

Image

Julep Eye Sheen in Dusty Taupe Shimmer $18.00

I also bought Dusty Taupe Liquid shadow, I haven’t used this one but I am looking forward to it.  One thing I didn’t convey from these pictures is..holy crap are they tiny! I should of put a penny so you could see the size to scale. They are little, but I think  a little might go a long ways. 🙂 We shall see!

Image

 Julep Color in Max $14.00

I somehow missed this polish and I have been wanting a polish with black and white glitter This is a topper polish, I am looking forward to using it, especially with a white or black polish. I am just hoping it isn’t goopy, I keep having this issue with different Julep glitters I own.

Image

Julep Color in Jane $14.00

Inspired by Jane the CEO and Founder of Julep. This one I kept hearing great things about and I kept seeing gorgeous swatches of. Also I am a big fan of rose gold. Can’t wait to use it.

Image

Julep Surprise Color Rush Lip Gloss $20.00

This is another new item Julep released. It is supposed to work for everyone and suit every type. The color in swatches looked gorgeous. So hopefully I like it.

Image

Blank Canvas Lip Primer $ 22.00

This I did not order, but it showed up instead of the Blank Canvas Face Primer I wanted. :/ I am not sure if I am going to use this. I have heard bad things from so many different mavens. It is just not my thing, primer for my lips..why?  But Julep did let me keep this for free since there was a mix up. I might just swap it or sell it.

Image

Blank Canvas Mattifying Face Primer $ 28.00

I’m bummed this wasn’t in my order because it was one of the top things I wanted to use! I never use primer (yes it’s awful) but I really need to start! This product has awesome reviews too! I called Julep ASAP as soon as I realized I was given the wrong product. There was practically no wait time. Mary the rep was helpful and I got an email later that day saying the order has been processed.

Anyway that is my haul! So thankful for the 50% off coupon, I only spent 64 dollars on everything! The best! 🙂 Thanks Julep!

Glitter Guilty Box Review February 2014

It is here! Glitter Guilty is a nail polish subscription box. It includes a mini nail polish, and a full size polish, as well as a yummy sweet or two. I have so many things I have been ordering online, my bad when I got this box I thought it was something else and was pleasantly surprised and happy. This is my favorite Glitter Guilty Box, I really like the colors and they are very Valentinesy. Yes it is a word.

Image

Image

My Full Size polish is Peacock Party, I really like this one. I absolutely love purple and blue that is my ultimate favorite color combination. I put it on as soon as I got my box. The picture here doesn’t really capture the blue flakes that well. When you apply the polish a lot of glitter comes out, so it definitely takes some fishing. But is a really cool glitter polish. There are many different shaped and sized glitter. This is fun.

Image

This mini is called Cupid’s Crossbow, I really like this mini too, Pretty pink glittery-ness! This polish looks fun I like that there is white glitter in it as well as a few shades of pink. This nail polish looks even better when it’s on.

Where’s the chocolate picture? Yea I ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture, I fail. :p Anyway that’s my box, I love the colors I got this month. 🙂

Snowed In

Greetings from Snowy Portland! This is my first year living here and I know that the winter weather we have been having is not the typical, but I am enjoying it. I live in a very hilly area and don’t have 4WD so I have been snowed in like much of the population. There are only so many things I can do right?

Well I can play out in the snow with my super cute Sorels.

Image

Play with my Puppy (who LOVES the SNOW).

Watch the snow accumulate.

Finally get around to making that Loaded Baked Potato Chowder you kept hearing about in Pinterest and Facebook.

Lounge around and watch movies I’ve never seen. Ranger knows how to do it.

photo (43)

Do some unnecessary nail polish shopping online. :/ 🙂

Watch youtube nail art tutorials and attempt my own creations.

Not Sure what else I am going to be doing..I feel like I am running out of things to do. :/

Birchbox Versus Ipsy Bag Face Off January 2014

This month both my Ipsy Bag and Birchbox arrived on the same day so I decided to do a Face-off between the two for the month of January. They are after all similar. Both Birchbox and Ipsy are beauty subscription’s costing $10.00 a month that include, samples as well as some full-sized products.  First Let’s start with Birchbox.

Image

I always love the box presentation with Birchbox, I think they do a splendid job in that arena. Also I love how the boxes are always themed and include a card with what products are included and what they are used for. Anyway this month’s box was heavier than it usually is, which is always a good sign.

Image

Image

My first product are these unfortunate packaged samples.

Image

100% Pure Nourishing Body Cream 3 samples (.067 fl oz each), Full Size: $15.00

I really hate samples like this, they are small  and sure there are 3 but I don’t feel like they should even count. Also they are in condiment sample packets. It looks like Ketchup.

Image

Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle  Deluxe Sample, Full Size: $21.95

I feel like I get this kind of stuff all the time. But I do like these sorts of products, it’s just I am kind of backed up. I would of preferred something else, but I have heard good things about this product.

Image

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish  Hot Cloth Cleanser Starter Kit Deluxe Sample (1 oz & muslin cloth), Full Size:$24.50

I really like this, it is the highlight of my box! It was the item that made my box kind of heavy. I started using it last night and then used it this morning. I really do need to take better care of my skin while I am young! My skin feels so soft even after a 10 hour work day. I will be buying this when I run out.

Image

Ruby Wing Color Changing Nail Polish Mini in Kitten Heels (7 ml), Full Size (15ml): $10.00

Nail Polish! I have an addiction my collection keeps getting bigger and I like this one. The light didn’t capture how bold this fuchsia nail polish is. Also it changes colors, it turns a red color. Super Cool!

Image

Ahmad Teas Assorted Teas (Sample Size, 3 teabags), Full Size: $7.00

More tea! It will go away fast. I’ve never had this brand and it’s from London. I’m intrigued, yes it’s stereotypical to say hey its english and it’s tea so it has to be good, but we will see. The Peach and Passion Fruit one I am looking forward to.

Image

The box also included these cool cards with sayings on them. The back of them have tips for Confidence, ways to get happier, etc. They are pretty and I already put them on my walls in my cubicle at work to keep me happy and positive.

Now on to Ipsy!

Image

I always love how Ipsy includes so much value in their bags. Also it always includes a bag.

There is the bag…

Image

I will be honest this is my first bag that I don’t like. It’s just a little cheapy compared to November and December, but who buys Ipsy for the bag? You can only have so many makeup bags right?

Image

Proactive Mark Fading Pads  Sample Size (4 packets)

What is this, small samples? Gah Ipsy went the same route as Birchbox and gave multiple small sample packs. I am not a huge Proactive fan. It just never worked for me. I will use them of course..and very quickly. I used one last night, it burned a little.

Image

Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair Deep Conditioning Mask ( 1 fl oz Sample Size)Full Size: $26.00

Here is my favorite product in the Ipsy bag. I already used it last night. First of all it smells AMAZING, and my ends of my hair felt so silky afterword. I like it. 🙂 I wish I had more, I might have to purchase it.

Image

Nourish Organic Face Lotion (Sample Size .5 oz) Full Size: $21.99

Who doesn’t like some moisturizer? It has shea butter, rosewater, and Moroccan Argan oil sounds awesome. 🙂

Image

Elizabeth Mott Smooth Shadow Creamy Eye Pencil in Pearl (Sample Size), Full Size:$14.99

I do use Nyx jumbo pencils all the time, but I am not partial to creamy shadows because it usually creases. But I will try it,  love the color.

Image

Tinted Lip Balm Mica Beauty Cosmetics in Fiesta (Sample Size), Full Size: $30.00

It is a very pretty shade, I am intrigued by it. First of all the price tag is 30 dollars for a full size, expensive much? I am sure this will be my first and last Mica lip balm.

So that was my Birchbox and my Ipsy Bag which one do you think won this month? It’s tough, I will say that this was my least favorite Ipsy I have received (but I hold Ipsy to a high standard). I hold it to a higher standard because I was spoiled with November & December, they were AMAZING. So many full-sized products, exceptional value.  This one was so-so. Birchbox I liked this month more than usual. Mainly because of the Liz Earle Cleanser, and nail polish. I will give it to Birchbox this month! I declare them winner, however it was close. Anyway what do you think? I have 20 dollars worth of Birchbox points now! 🙂 What shall I buy..

Thinking about getting Birchbox or Ipsy? You can always use those referral links attached.

Glitter Guilty Box January 2014 Review

Image

My box arrived!  Glitter Guilty is a nail polish subscription that includes a full size nail polish, a mini nail polish and a yummy snack for $15.99. This month’s box was inspired by the winter vortex much of the country has been having. I was hungry when I opened this box because I was immediately drawn to the chocolate covered fortune cookie. YUM.

Image

Image

Why have I never thought of that? Chocolate covered Fortune Cookies are delicious!

Image

Image

Image

Image

I haven’t tried either of these nail polishes yet ( I am really liking my current mani. 🙂 I’m not crazy about the fact that they are both blue, but we will see

Image

I was really thrilled that there was striping tape in my box! I actually just ordered some, but when you order it via amazon it is shipping from Japan so it could take over a month to get here. So I am super happy I have some because I have been wanting to try using striping tape to do some mani’s. I have been addict-idly  watching striping tape tutorials on youtube.

So that was my box this month. How do you think it was? I am looking forward to the February box for sure, maybe a valentines box? That would be awesome. 🙂

Julep Maven Review January 2014

Image

I was really excited when the January window opened up for Julep Maven. For those who don’t know Julep Maven is a nail polish and beauty subscription. Each month 21st- 24th we get to see the 5 box choices that cost $19.99. If you don’t like any of the boxes you can skip the month. If you love the whole collection you can upgrade, they offer various upgrades. I decided to upgrade to the Boudoir Collection which is an additional $35 on top of the $19.99 because I liked all the colors and finishes so much as well as the products.

I have a little story about the delivery because the pictures I have of the box might look a little tattered. So I went to USPS’s website and it said it was delivered however it was not at my door. I was ready to go to all the apartments near mine to find it, but first I was going to check my mailbox. My mailbox is so small so I didn’t think I would find it there (however they have done it before). But of course there it was, its like impossible to get the box out without damaging it. I guess the side where they put the mail in is bigger than the side where I take it out. I had to take a knife and scissors to my box, I wasn’t pleased. I tried to hide it in the photos. I left a note for my mailman. Next time I will have to just contact my post office.

Image

Look at all my pretties! I love them, and many of them have awesome finishes. The boxes are new too, no longer the black boxes with white writing. I really like the new boxes. I do have a stash of boxes I keep and reuse as gifts so I am sad this one is damaged from me prying it out of my mailbox.

Image

Julep Nail Color in Hannah $14

Julep Nail Color in Abigail $14

Julep Nail Color in  Mae $14

Hannah was one that I was instantly very interested in, I love all shades of green. So I’m looking forward to putting this one on. Abigail is very pretty in person, better than the swatches on juleps blog lets on. I love purples and Mae is a very light shade of purple. It has a satin finish, I just hope this color isn’t too light for my skin so we shall see.

Image

Julep Nail Color in Margot $14

Julep Nail Color in Mona$14

Julep Nail Color in  Noelle $14

I almost put on Margot because she looked so pretty when I swatched her. I think she will be my next mani for sure. The gold color looks unique compared to other golds I have. Love it. Noelle reminds me of Farrah, but in a different color because it has that same awesome shimmer and has a silk finish. I really like this one, will be wearing it shortly. Mona looks very dark in person, it almost looks black (which I am not crazy about) but I will test this one out.

Image

Julep Nail Color in Annemarie $14

Julep Nail Color in Hope $14

Julep Nail Color in Farrah $14

I love Farrah! I am wearing her right now I had to put her on right away. She has a lovely shimmer and a silky soft finish. ❤ She is very elegant, and so far hasn’t chipped! I always have that issue when I don’t use topcoat. I’m not so crazy about Annemarie, not sure if I will swap her or what. And Hope is a white with a satin finish. I am excited by two of these three.

Image

Julep Vanish Cuticle Softener & Remover $18.00

I was really happy that this months beauty product is nail related! I have never used a similar product so I am excited to try it. I am not one of those people who obsess over their cuticles, but if there is a product to improve mine sure I want to use it.

Image

Julep Ta Da Quick Dry Drops $14.00

I’m glad I held off on purchasing these because I have been tempted over my time as a maven member and now it is included in a box. I love painting my nails, but I have this problem with sitting still after I paint my nails and then I smudge them, or ruin them and I hate that. I used this when I did my nails in Farrah and it worked like a charm. It does have an odd smell, it isn’t bad and it isn’t good. It kind of reminded me of Jennifer Lawrence in American Hustle. She shows off her nail polish topcoat and says it smells like flowers and like garbage together. Not sure if it it smells like garbage but it is kind of a weird smell.

Image

Here is a picture of my nails, I feel like the photo didn’t really pick up on Farrah’s purple tinge but it definitely does have a purple shimmer. Love January’s box! I don’t have enough hands for all these polishes. Gosh I remember thinking when I signed up for Julep I thought I’d be skipping a lot because I thought you only need 10 to 15 nail polish colors. I surely was wrong! Thank you Julep I am a nail polish addict now.

That is what I received this month. Love it? Pretty awesome month to me. I am so excited to play with all my pretties.

Barkbox December 2013 Review

Image

Barkbox time!  For those who don’t know Barkbox is a monthly subscription to dog toys and treats, because who shouldn’t spoil their dog with their own subscription box right? The price monthly varies if you purchase the 6 month subscription it is $19.99 per month, if you purchase the 3 month package it is $24 dollars a month, and if you do month to month it is $29.99. My 6 month subscription was to renew December but due to lack of funds I can’t commit to the 6 months. I was about to cancel when barkbox said “are you sure we will take 10 dollars off your box?” and so I said to myself I will at least get him the December box for $19.99. The rest of the year is still hanging in the balance. I might have to stop for a little bit. Anyway Barkbox arrived early, but I dilly-dallied posting this because I made it one or Rangers Christmas Presents. This box was very treat heavy again, I have so much backstock right now of treats! It is crazy.

Image

Image

Image

Jax & Bones Penguin Rope Toy $14.00

This toy is so cute and it is sturdy and will last awhile since it is made with rope. Check out their website, they have so many other cute rope animal toys. Ranger is a toyaholic, he is like a little child and loves playing with them all. He has a basket filled with his toys and often I see him digging his nose in it, and I sometimes will find him asleep with all his toys surrounding him. Little goofball.

Image

Superior Farms Pet Provisions Lamb Toasters 3oz $8.99

I have received products from Superior Farms in the past. I love their treats because they have great ingredients. I mean there is lamb in this treat how often do I give Ranger lamb treats? Never. I like that there is variety.

Image

Plato Turkey with Cranberry Treats 4oz Bag $6.00

Plato treats are very festive this time. It’s like my dog is getting a holiday feast. I have so much Plato treats right now in back-stock from other barkboxes. Not that I don’t feed Ranger this stuff, it’s just he has so many treats right now.

Image

Wet Noses Peanut Butter Biscuit $1.79

Haven’t given him this yet, but it is a great sized biscuit and I know he will eat it all up.

Image

Barkworthies Beef Bladder $5.25

As soon as I saw this item I knew it would be gone in a heartbeat. He grabbed it immediately and chewed on it for maybe 30 minutes and it was gone. I love Barkworthies! It seems to be often in his boxes and that is just fine with me!

Overall i am very happy with my box, and I am not sure if I should discontinue. I am short on funds so I can’t commit to 6 more months and he does have so many treats and toys right now. However I do enjoy getting that monthly present for my puppy. This is also my very first subscription I started with. I might have to come back to barkbox when I am able to re-commit. So this could be my last barkbox review for a little while.  :/

FabFitFun VIP Box Review- Winter 2013

Image

It has come, the Fab Fit Fun Winter box has arrived! This is a subscription box curated by Guilana Rancic that comes quarterly for each of the four seasons. This box costs $49.99 (including shipping) and is a lifestyle box that includes beauty, fashion and fitness products. This box quickly snuck up on me, and I really like this box. A lot to be excited about!

Image

It came very beautifully wrapped with the scrunchy white paper. The front page of the VIP card shows a spoiler that wasn’t given away earlier this month.

Image

Image

Here is the card with all of the products included in this box. So exciting so many good products!! 😀

Image

Image

The Giving Keys Never Ending Necklace $55

This is my favorite item in my box! I love it. Each key is completely unique they are re-purposed, each one includes a message. Mine says “Courage” which is probably the one I need most, it is perfect. What you are supposed to do is where it till you think you have your courage and you’re to pay it forward to someone who needs that message more than you. I love the idea and message. I was hoping mine would be silver because I am not a gold person but I don’t care now I love mine. My box is already worth it.

Image

Image

Beauty For Real Lip Gloss in Turned On $22.00

I’m accumulating so many glosses, but I really do like this color because it is more subtle. I think its cute how there is a mirror attached to it. It also lights up, which is a little strange. I don’t really have that I-need-to-put-on-my lip-gloss-in-the-dark-and-I-don’t-have-a-mirror issue, but it is different and unique.

Image

Lorna Jane Workout Bracelet $30.00

This is a bracelet for when you work out. It is a symbol of sisterhood or so it says. I am not digging it. It reminds me of the livestrong bracelets except clunky. Also I am not a big accessory wearer especially when I am being active, it would just get on my nerves. I was trying to think who might like this bracelet but I can’t think of anyone, so not sure what to do with this.

Image

Bioxidea Miracle 24 Face Mask $19.00

I love a good face mask! So I am looking forward to using it. Reminds me of a product I got from Birchbox a few months ago, but this looks a little fancier. I love this type of stuff.

Image

True Energy Inspired Earbuds $40.00

I am so happy to get new ear buds. I have been needing some for so long. The ones I have right now I dislike very much so I am very pleased. Also I like that these are made for being active because the  apple ones just don’t work for me when being active.

Image

Physique 57 Classes $25.00

So this card includes 5 classes you can access via internet from your laptop or tablet. To me I find these offers always kind of weird, if I use a workout video I would just prefer it on a big screen like I don’t know on a television.

Image

Skyn Icelandic Relief Eyecream $45.00

I am excited about this, I know it’s shallow and doesn’t insure the product is good but I feel like if it has a $45 dollar price tag it must be good stuff. I’m not wrinkly yet, but I don’t want to be for a long time. This product is for anti-aging, dark spots , wrinkles. So I really do need to start using products like this to take care of my skin for when I do get older.

Image

Meundies Giftcard $20

I was happy when i saw this because it actually was a giftcard, it didn’t say I needed to spend 50 dollars to get $20 off or anything like that. In actuality it isn’t really a giftcard, there is a promo code on the back but it works like a giftcard. I decided to buy a couple of pairs of socks it cost $20 dollars, I applied the code and it was free. The website still asked me for my credit card, but I paid nothing. Shipping was free. So I was really pleased with that! 🙂 You can never have enough socks and from looking around on the internet Meundies is supposed to have really good products. They even offer a subscription monthly box too. Looking forward to my socks.

Image

Nyx Eyeshadow Pallet in Love in Florence $8.00

Simple Foaming Facial Cleanser $7.49

These two items are in the bonus section of the card and are the drugstore products that are loved. I really do like Nyx, I use several of their products so I am happy with getting a eyeshadow pallet. And the cleanser I have so many right now, but sure more the merrier I guess.

Winter Fab Fit Fun Box is a success. I am really happy with the products, I appreciate how this box was delivered earlier than the FFF team had told us originally ( and of course before christmas). This box costs $49.99 but contains $271.47 worth of product. I won’t use everything in this box but still this box has so much value and of course I can gift some of these items. Winter definitely is better than the Fall box. Thank you for stepping up your game! Do you want a box? Right now if you use the code EARLY5 you will get $5.00 off your box.It seems the holiday box is sold out, but get the spring one! If you want a box help a girl out  and use this referral link

Birchbox December 2013 Review

Image

My Birchbox arrived! I’m always happy when this box comes in the mail. So for those who don’t know Birchbox is a monthly subscription of beauty samples, it costs $10.00 including shipping. This month’s box looks a little different, love the box.

Image

Image

Image

This month’s theme is Holiday, not too surprising as it is December. It is great getting these subscriptions during the holiday months, I feel extra special in such a gift-giving month as it is. I really enjoyed the packaging.

Image

Image

Secret Agent Beauty Secret Lip Affair Nourishing & Plumping Lip Gloss
I have never heard of this brand, but I am looking forward to using it, and see how it stands up! I always have an issue with lip gloss because it’s usually a tad bit sticky.

Image

Benta Berry G-1 Exfoliating Facial Cleanser Sample Size $?

I tried this stuff right away just before bed, holy crap did it burn! I don’t think is for me, my face turned all red. So I must have an allergy, so this is a no-go for me. Too bad, I do like cleansers.

Image

Hayadi Pure Happy Smooth

I love these types of products. My hair always seems to be dry, so lets hope this works nice on my locks.

Image

Chella Highlighter Pencil

I have a highlighter pencil that I love, so we will see how this one goes.

Image

Chuao Chocolatier Chocolate Bar Honeycomb

Chocolate always makes me happy! 🙂 I ate this write after I took this picture. Yum yum, I was looking at the different types they have and they are so unique and sound so good!

That was my December Birchbox, it was alright. I thought it would be a little more festive like the wrapping suggests. So I wish they got more in the spirit of the holidays with this box. There isn’t one particular item I am ecstatic about. So this one was pretty mediocre. At-least I have 10 dollars in Birchbox credit now. 😀 What shall I buy for someone for Christmas? So how do you feel about your December box? Are you interested? You can always use my referral link.

photo (2)

Like my nails? I painted them with my new beauty! Dime Piece by Enchanted Polish. 🙂 I will need to write a post about the polishes I got from my restock. They are amazing.
